The Cupboard Pamphlet’s Annual contest!
In an effort to see authors paid for their work, Cupboard will pay $300 per published manuscript.
The Cupboard Pamphlet publishes two chapbooks per annum—one in the Fall, one in the Spring.
The Cupboard Pamphlet invites submissions of prose manuscripts between 5,000 and 10,000 words. Submissions can be composed of one piece or multiple pieces. We make no demands on content or genre, with the exception of verse poetry, which we don’t publish. We read fiction and nonfiction and are happy to see collections inclusive of both.

All submissions will be read blind; thus, your name and contact information should only appear within your cover letter and not within the manuscript itself. The entire manuscript should not have been published previously, but please do include an acknowledgments page if individual pieces have appeared elsewhere. We welcome both simultaneous and multiple submissions; all submissions will be considered for general publication.

Manuscripts must be submitted for consideration by our deadline.
The winning author will receive $1000 and 10 contributor’s copies. The manuscript will be published as an upcoming volume of the Cupboard Pamphlet.
